Halwa Puri is a popular Pakistani and North Indian breakfast dish that consists of two main components. Puri is a deep-fried bread made from unleavened wheat flour dough. It is rolled out into small rounds and then fried until it puffs up, becoming crispy and golden brown. Halwa refers to a sweet, dense, and pudding-like dish made from semolina (suji), sugar, ghee (clarified butter), and flavored with cardamom and sometimes saffron. It has a rich, buttery texture and is often garnished with nuts such as almonds or pistachios. Together, Halwa Puri is served as a combination dish where puris are paired with halwa. Additionally, it may be accompanied by a side of chana masala (spicy chickpea curry) or aloo bhaji (spiced potato curry) to complement the flavors and textures of the meal.
